Winnipeg's oldest-living comic turns 40 this week

Jason Beck in his natural habitat: Hardee's.

Happy birthday to Winnipeg's oldest-living comic and communications professional, Jason Beck.

Beck turns 40 this week, and you know what that means: only a few days until he gets his picture in the paper next to the headline, "Lordy, lordy." With all the other mutants.

A happiest of birthdays to Jason from me, Buffie Buffalo, Pengy Penguin, and all the citizens of...aw, forget it.

  1. Hi Kenton,

Just letting you know about an amazing local story. Red River College's Creative Communications program is hosting its annual Independent Professional Project gala presentations at the Park Theatre this Wednesday March 11, Thursday March 12 and Friday March 13.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to noon, and 1 to 4 p.m. on these dates. People can expect to see presentations from Vanessa Kunderman, a local singer/songwriter who's been heard on Hot 103 and also Steve St. Louis on his project of where our recycled material goes in Manitoba.

Many other presentations will be featured such as documentaries, novels and many more. Come and see the bright future of media in Manitoba and across Canada. The best part of this event is that its free and its going to be awesome. C'mon down to the Park Theatre this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We'll see you there!

    Your pals,
    STEVE, shayna....and meryl..
