Chicago's
Boulevard Bikes has put the excitement back into cycling ads.
This 1/8-page ad appears in the latest print edition of
the Onion, a place where advertisers can dare to feature an old cycling joke, phallic balloons, and a dude enjoying his bicycle - along with the promise of "expert sales & service."
I actually like this ad: I noticed it right away, and burst out laughing when I imagined the account rep selling the client on the strategy: "We put the fun between your legs. Where something else is! You sell bikes, get it? That'll be $400."
And it worked!
